Dear Parents
We are having a change to our routine in class for the net two weeks. We are having a special focus on developing our Mathematical skills and all our lessons will have a Maths focus. So far this week we have created a Tally Chart of our favourite wild animals and we have turned this data into a block graph. We then interpreted the information in the graph by answering questions. We have lots of other fun activities planned such as, a science investigation with a focus on measuring, making moving puppets using 2D shapes, sorting and matching. The children have been really enthusiastic and they have been making their own Tally Charts in their free play! Ask them about their graphs at home they'll tell you all about them.

Home task this week is a 'mini presentation' this is similar to show and tell (we have been practising this in class). We would like the children to research their favourite wild animal and think about how they will tell others all about it. They could use note cards, pictures or posters to help them. Their presentation will be expected to last about 5 minutes and we will be assessing their Oracy skills. We will be expecting the children to speak clearly and be loud enough for others to hear, to look at their audience and keep their interest. The children have an extra week to give them time to research and practise their presentation. We will not be able to listen to every child on the same day so we will put a time-table on the class window and here on the blog so that your child knows when it's their turn.

Congratulations to our competition winners from our St David's Day celebrations. The judge had a hard time choosing as all work was of a very high standard and we could have had many more winners!
