Dear Parents
We have had a really lovely time listening to your children's presentations. We've all been learning lots of new facts. The posters and pictures are lovely and we are going to display them in the class soon. We're looking forward to hearing the rest of the presentations this week.
We've been busy in class this week. In Maths we are learning about positional language such as above, below, beside, to the left of and to the right of. Please could you reinforce left and right with your child at home. We are also leaning about the value of coins and counting in 1p and 10p.
In Language we have been learning about different way to open a sentences and we have been thinking about 'Where' and When' openers (Where- Down in the valley, Next to the school, On top of a hill etc When- Last week, One day last spring, After lunch etc).
In Creative time we have been designing a jungle and we will use our jungles as a map to direct a Bee Bot (mini robot) around by giving it directions linked to our Maths lessons.
In PSE we have been learning how to work in a group and give our opinions and listen to the opinions of others. Most children have found giving their opinions quite easy however taking account of the opinions of others is far more difficult!!
We are going to be taking care of our garden plot soon and the children have decided that they would like to plant a variety of flowers and herbs so if you have any seeds that can be sown into the ground in April please could you send them in to school.
We're looking forward to seeing you all next week in parents' evening and it would be really lovely to see you Wednesday evening in the LNF meting arranged by Mrs Pugh.
Mrs Udy and Mrs Evans
