Dear Parents
Thank you for all the lovely jungle animals you've been sending into school. They're very creative and our role play area is looking lovely. I think the children will enjoy having a jungle in the classroom and we'll be able to use it to extend Numeracy. Science and Literacy through play.

We have had head lice reported in the class so please will you check your child's hair regularly.
We have been working really hard in Maths this week. We are using a 100 number square to find and order big numbers. We are also partitioning into 'tens' and 'ones' and finding 10 more and 10 less. The home work this week is based on these activities and I've included a 100 square for the children to use.

We are encouraging the children to become more independent with their learning. They will have seen a change to their enhanced activities this week. They now have to choose their activity, record it in their work book and fill in a chart to show they have completed their work. We have been really pleased with their sensible attitude and they all enjoyed being in charge of their tasks.

Please keep sending in any books about wild animals. We always enjoy class reading time and it's lovely to share the children's favourite books.
